Christmas at Børglum Kloster (several dates)
There is something truly special about Christmas in the old abbey corridors, where history still lingers in the air.
At Børglum Abbey, the scent of fir trees and freshly baked æbleskiver (Danish apple dumplings) fills the rooms, while candlelight casts a warm glow on the ancient stone walls. Outside, Christmas carols mingle with laughter and the excited eyes of children.
Many visitors return year after year — perhaps because Christmas here feels simple, cozy, and completely authentic.
Magical Christmas in Blokhus Sculpture Park (several dates)
In November and December, Blokhus Sculpture Park is transformed into a sea of lights. The park’s buildings, trees, and gardens glow with millions of Christmas lights, and everywhere you go there are small and large experiences for the whole family.
Here, you can walk through Europe’s longest illuminated Christmas tunnel, admire the 17.5-meter Christmas tree, look for Santa Claus in his sleigh, and discover the nativity scene, the golden carriages, and the red Christmas hearts hanging from the Tree of Love.
Christmas at Hjerl Hede
For three festive weekends, the open-air museum is transformed into a living Christmas story.
Wander through beautifully decorated historic houses, meet volunteers in period dress, ride a horse-drawn carriage through the wintry landscape, browse the Christmas market and taste your way through old Danish holiday traditions.
Christmas at Nørre Vosborg (several dates)
As Christmas approaches, Nørre Vosborg fills with the scent of fir trees, warmth, and creativity. On weekends, the manor house exudes extra Christmas spirit with freshly baked cookies, mulled wine, æbleskiver, elf treasure hunts, and horse-drawn carriage rides through the winter landscape.
Experience the atmospheric Christmas exhibitions created by floral artist Margit Bruun and the manor’s dedicated volunteers - a beautiful blend of nature, tradition, and the magic of Christmas.
