Visit Hjerl Hede and go on a journey through the history of Danish play – from early “hole stone” games to modern LEGO.
Here you will discover how children and adults have played through the centuries, and how play has shaped community, imagination, and everyday life. Experience the development from simple historical games to classic games still known today.
A special highlight is the impressive LEGO exhibitions created by members of the Byggepladen. Here you can explore detailed LEGO models of Hjerl Hede’s historic buildings – a unique blend of craftsmanship, history, and creativity that fascinates both children and adults.
You can also explore the museum’s authentic historic buildings. Step several hundred years back in time and try selected historical games for yourself. Many of these are early versions of games still played today.
Admission is free for children and young people under 18, making it an ideal family experience during your visit to Denmark.
