At Holstebro Museum you follow the history of the Holstebro area from the first human traces over 10,000 years ago to the modern city of today.

Archaeological finds from the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages show early settlement and everyday life. In the Middle Ages, Holstebro grows into a town, first mentioned in 1274 and later gaining a Latin school in 1539.

In the 19th and 20th centuries, development accelerates with hospital, railway, industry and urban expansion. Electricity, sports culture and modern infrastructure mark the transition to a contemporary city.

The exhibition also includes recent time layers, from art and culture to modern infrastructure.

A concise story of a city in constant change.
