Man

On the lawn in front of the museum is Erik Thommesen's (1916-2008) sculpture ''Man'' (1977). He took his inspiration, amongst other places, from African art and the sculptures of Astrid Noack. Both ''Man'' and ''Anna Ancher'' depict a person standing and both use small bodily displacements to signal life and movement.
