Fuglius (Birdy)

Birdy, (Fuglius) Granite Sculpture by Flemming Holm, 1992, Bjergby

This little rounded bird got its compact shape from the rock from which it was carved. Is this bird shivering, or is it keeping cozy?

Flemming Holm's bird sculptures are fantasy creatures. One can not determine the species of them, on the other hand, they incorporate plenty of body language and thus story in them. Bjergby-Mygdal School's plump little bird stands and hunkers down, a bit puzzled perhaps, but then there is also much occuring around it during a school day.

The bird is carved in simple, soft lines that are perfect for caressing.
