Elephant, Kaj (Glamsbjerg) Nielsen, 1958, Hjørring
The natural forms and lines of the granite rock inspired the artist, who gave the stone its form by chiseling a minimal amount away and letting its natural shape come forth.
The slightly bulky, relaxing elephant is typical for this sculptors style. From a distance the rock looks like an ordinary boulder, it is only when you approach closer that the animals form comes into view.
