Klitmøller - Tolderstien, Point Perfect, Revet and Bunkers

Vorupør: Little Pier, Big Pier and the South Side
Vorupør is ideal for beginners and offers a surf school at Lille Mole, but also has more challenging waves around Store Mole and on the south side. A great spot if you want to combine surfing with town life, sea bathing and a classic coastal atmosphere.

Hanstholm: Middles, Fiskemelen, Fakir and Fisherman’s
Hanstholm offers different conditions to Klitmøller and Vorupør, as the coastline is oriented differently. Here you’ll find a variety of wind conditions, long left-hand waves, opportunities for stand-up paddleboarding, and a few very challenging spots for experts.
Level: Intermediate to expert

Bøgsted Rende and Stenbjerg
More rugged and natural surfing in the heart of Thy National Park. Here, the conditions are often a bit wilder, bigger and less ‘staged’ than at the better-known spots. Ideal for experienced surfers and for experiencing surfing in the wild.
Level: Intermediate to advanced

Agger: The Black Houses and Long Pier
Agger is the southern Cold Hawaii classic, offering rougher conditions, strong currents and a heavy reliance on sandbanks. It’s not primarily a spot for beginners, but is ideal for experienced surfers and for that road trip vibe.
Level: Intermediate to advanced

Thyborøn: The West Coast and the Thyborøn Canal
Thyborøn is an ideal spot for beginners and those looking for structured lessons, particularly as the channel, fjord and open sea offer a variety of options all within close proximity. It’s perfect for families, groups and those trying surfing for the first time.
Level: Beginner to intermediate

Løkken: Løkken Pier and the beach around North Shore Surf
Løkken is ideal for beginners, children and groups. The combination of surfing, a sauna, a beach town and easy access makes it a fantastic destination — especially for those who aren’t necessarily chasing the biggest waves.
Level: Beginner to intermediate

Hirtshals: Husmoderstranden, the harbour area and the ferry wave
Hirtshals is fascinating because the area features both ordinary coastal waves and the more unusual phenomenon of ferry waves — that is, waves created by the movement of ferries in the harbour. It’s more of a niche, local spot than a classic surf spot, but it’s a real curiosity and makes for great storytelling.
Level: Intermediate to advanced

Tversted and Uggerby
Northern coastal spots with more open beaches, natural surroundings and a lesser-known surfing scene. Here, it’s more about freedom, tranquillity and off-the-beaten-track sessions than about established surfing facilities.
Level: Intermediate to advanced

Blokhus / Saltum / Jammerbugt
Great wide beaches, easy access and ideal conditions for beginners, bodyboarding, SUP in small waves and beach activities. More of a “family holiday” kind of surf than hardcore Cold Hawaii.
Level: Beginner to intermediate

Thorsminde: The North Sea and Nissum Fjord
Thorsminde offers both rugged west coast conditions on the ocean side and calmer options on the fjord side at Nissum Fjord. This makes the area ideal for surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing and safer sessions for beginners.
