MTB technique & guided tour - red/black trails

We will visit some of the more challenging sections in Svinkløv and practice our skills in steep, rugged terrain – though a blue trail or two might sneak in to give us a chance to get some airtime.

We will practice fundamental techniques such as line choice, body position, etc., in difficult terrain. However, depending on the group's needs, we can also pick from a menu of jumps, cutties, advanced line choices, endo turns, scandi flicks, stoppies, and more. And no, you don’t need to know how to do them beforehand; an instructor can simply be your shortcut to mastering them!

Who can join?

You are ready for this course if you ride MTB regularly, feel reasonably confident on most red trails, and are up for the challenge—perhaps with a bit of guidance—of practicing on features like Maries Drop and some of the black trails.

You are equally welcome whether you ride XC, E-MTB, trail, enduro, or just love mountain biking in general. If you are in doubt, just ask!

Certified Instructors

Esben Kronborg is part of the team behind Feriecenter Slettestrand. Esben holds the highest instructor certification in Europe and also trains other instructors. During busy periods, Esben is assisted by skilled, certified instructors from our network—all of whom, of course, hold at least a D-MTBing qualification.

You can therefore be sure that your instructors know exactly what they are doing and can deliver safe, professional, and high-quality skills training. In fact, Feriecenter Slettestrand is one of the very few places where you can receive training that prepares instructors for the international EO-MTBing exam for MTB instructors and guides.

Bike Rental

If you don't have your own bike, you can rent one of our awesome mountain bikes—we also have bikes in kids' sizes. Booking is required.

• 2-hour MTB skills course & guided tour with a certified MTB guide/instructor.

Practical Information

• Meeting point: We meet dressed for the ride at the tour's start time by the bike workshop at Feriecenter Slettestrand, Slettestrandvej 140, 9690 Fjerritslev.

• Helmet requirement: Wearing an approved and intact bicycle helmet is mandatory throughout the entire tour (helmet is included in the bike rental, if applicable).

• Clothing: We recommend clothing suitable for the season and the activity.

• Hydration & snacks: Bring a full water bottle and perhaps a small snack (bottles and snacks can also be purchased at the reception).

• Health & medical info: If you have any medical conditions, allergies, physical limitations, or similar information that you think is relevant for the guide to know, please inform us before the tour starts.
