Autumn Break at the Hjerl Hede Open-Air Museum – Fun for the Whole Family

During the autumn break, the Hjerl Hede Open-Air Museum offers a wide range of activities for the entire family.

Explore the old houses and vegetable gardens, say hello to the animals, and let the kids run wild on the historical playground.

Enjoy the museum dressed in beautiful autumn colors, and carve your own beet lanterns to take home. Our skilled volunteers will guide you in making traditional beet lanterns – just like in the old days. Price: 40 DKK per beet.

Roleplay Adventure for the Youngest Visitors

On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 11:00, 13:00, and 15:00, families can take part in a magical roleplay experience, where you’ll meet mystical creatures that our ancestors once believed in.

The roleplay is best suited for children aged 5–11 and their families. It lasts about one hour.

In the courtyard by the visitor center, you’ll be greeted by a monk who needs your help rescuing legendary creatures from the clutches of an evil count. Together, children and adults will journey through the museum to try and restore balance and bring peace back to the world.

The evil Count Ditmar has disrupted the balance between the human world and the realm of magical beings. If no one acts soon, the two worlds may merge – making the hidden creatures visible to all.

That could have disastrous consequences. What will happen if humans discover the magical beings?

The roleplay is arranged in collaboration with the Danish Talent Academy (Dansk Talentakademi) and is free with a valid museum ticket.
