Tislum Plantation, Hørmested, Sindal
Tislum Plantation, Hørmested, Sindal was landscaped back in 1919. At that time forest landscaping was promoted in Denmark and the then Hørmested Kommune decided to create a plantation for it's citizens.
The landscape is very hilly which make the woodlands look larger than they actually are. Here it is possible to take very varied tours around the area.
In the western part you will find Starhøj, very proud with her 67 metres above sea level. Up here you will find memorial stones and not far from these stones you will find a stone circle. Marked tours will guide you through most of the woods - or you can also chose to plan a hike of your own.
I skoven finder man flere mindesten rejst over de folk, som var engageret i plantningssagen. På Starhøj står der en genforeningssten og et stykke vest for højen kan man finde en stensætning. Du kan følge den markerede rute rundt i skoven, her kommer du rundt i det meste af skoven. Du kan også vælge, at opleve skoven på egen hånd.
