Thing Finding Competition

Are you good at finding things?

There are so many objects to find on a beach - and a little thing finder contest is a fun way to get going.

Set a 30-minute timer and start finding things on the beach. Can you find these objects?

A hollow stone, a crab claw, a bird feather, some driftwood, an oyster shell, a scallop, some plastic waste, a piece of rope, a fish bone, and 5 beautiful stones you can stack on top of each other.

Once you have found some fun things, you can "draw and create" on the beach using the objects you collected. Put things in patterns and shapes - just let your imagination expand. You can also take home the things you find and make decorations with them, or make a little display where you sort and categorize your finds: mussels, rocks, feathers, waste, and wood.

Thing Finder Competition by Dorte Krøyer, August 2020, in conjunction with a development project with funding from the Ministry of Rural Business Fund. In collaboration with Thy Tourist Association and Support Fund Hannæs and Østerild, the residents and tourist attractions from the area have contributed to the project through many workshops. The result represents carefully selected locations and recommendations where your visit contributes with a positive effect.

We call it sustainable tourism.
