Skibstedgaard is a small, family-run manor house on Skibsted Fjord, where the Viking Age is said to have ended in 1085. The farm dates back to the 15th century and is beautifully situated right by the water between the gentle hills of the Ice Age, sheltered from the west wind. Just 10 meters from the fjord's edge lies our half-timbered fjord wing – designed for those seeking peace and quiet, authentic surroundings, and a place to stay in the heart of nature. In the main house, Fadeburet is located in the farm's old garden.
A total of five spacious and personally decorated apartments – all with kitchenettes, private terraces, and a total capacity of 22 beds and seating for 32 diners.
Bakkehuset, our course and yoga house, is located 400 meters from the farm and has 10 beds and a large hall.
Nature is always present at Skibstedgaard, and there are many opportunities to enjoy it when you visit the farm. Take a dip in the Limfjord, borrow a rowboat or kayak, go for a walk in the varied countryside around the farm, enjoy an evening by the bonfire by the fjord, and relax in the sauna after your exertions.
When you visit the farm, you can also follow our nature restoration project “From farm to wild nature,” where former agricultural land is being transformed into contiguous, wild nature as part of our work with biodiversity and nature conservation. Follow the project on our social media and website.
Skibstedgaard is ideal for family and friend gatherings, creative workshops, small courses, and meetings—far from noise but close to experiences such as SMK Thy, Thy National Park, Museum Thy in Heltborg, Cold Hawaii, and Oldtidshøjene.
Skibstedgaard also offers experiences and stays with yoga, hiking, nature interpretation, and mushroom picking if you want a special experience when you are with us or in the area.
