From Dream to Reality:
A Garden Transformed into Art
The idea of turning the historic garden at Ulstrup into an open-air museum became a reality after many years of dreams and planning.
Anni and Leo wished to breathe new life into this fascinating site and have now chosen to highlight it through contemporary sculpture. The park invites visitors to wander among sculptures of various sizes, surrounded by old trees and picturesque landscapes.
A Meeting That Changed the Fate of the Place
The collaboration with Misja Kristoffer Rasmussen began in 2006, when Anni and Leo purchased three of his works and started following his artistic journey.
Many years later, in 2023, they met again by chance at the North Atlantic Lighthouse in Hanstholm during one of Misja’s solo exhibitions.
This reunion led to the creation of Røde Ane’s Sculpture Park. Today, Misja is the park’s main artist, and the collaboration ensures a high artistic standard in the exhibitions.
Røde Ane’s Sculpture Park is open year-round and offers various ways to experience the art:
• Self-guided tours with registration: Visitors can use QR codes to learn more about the sculptures and their stories.
• Guided tours with Anni and Leo can be booked in advance, where they share insights into the works and their connection to the site.
• Planned events and artist talks during the summer months, including vernissages and creative gatherings.
Between Legend and Art
The park is named after Røde Ane, a legendary figure from local folklore. The story tells of a young maid with red hair who lived at Ulstrup, whose tragic fate is still remembered.
It is said that her restless spirit still haunts Røde Ane’s Bridge, which visitors cross to reach the park.
Naming the park after her is a tribute to the area's history and a way to connect past and present through art.
