Research Day at the North Sea Oceanarium

Research Day at the North Sea
Research Day is a nationwide science festival that creates opportunities for interaction between researchers and the public. The festival takes place every year at the end of April. The North Sea Oceanarium contributes with several events.
April 24: NORTH SEA Tells: Lobster Farming and Restocking
NORTH SEA Tells: About Lobster Farming and Conservation
On this evening, you will have the chance to go behind the scenes of the North Sea Oceanarium's lobster farming and hear from Aquarium Master Martin Riis and Researcher Ivar Lund from DTU Aqua about the work involved in restoring the black lobster population on the stone reefs from Løkken to Hirtshals, and the research behind it.
The North Sea Oceanarium works closely with researchers from, among others, DTU Aqua. An exciting result of this collaboration is the lobster project, where over 21,000 black lobsters have been released on the reefs between Løkken and Hirtshals. On this evening, the story behind the project will be shared, and there will be an opportunity to see the breeding facility and the tiny lobsters.
