Race For Oceans - Beach Walk & Talk & Clean-up - kopi
Race For Oceans returns to Løkken – bringing ocean lovers together to focus on community, marine protection and microplastic awareness.
For the seventh year in a row, we’re bringing together people who care about the ocean – this summer with a focus on community.
Our aim is to celebrate the love of the sea and local connection. That’s why this year’s activities take place in and around Løkken, where we’ve been based for the past five years, with a special focus on UN Sustainable Development Goal 14: Life Below Water.
For collecting waste, we use bags made from old kites that were originally meant to be discarded. They were sewn together three years ago and have since followed us along the Danish coastline – still in use and serving a good purpose.
We pick up all types of litter, but pay particular attention to microplastics – especially plastic pellets, which are often invisible to the human eye. Feel free to bring gloves – and of course, bring your favourite people along.
At the end of the walk, North Shore Surf offers an ice cream to all children.
We look forward to seeing you on the beach.
