Open Air Museum Hjerl Hede - Architecture

The open-air museum Hjerl Hede is one of Denmark's finest open-air museums. Here you can explore and see how people lived 100-200 years ago.
There is also many opportunities to study the beautiful old buildings and especially the fine timbered houses with thatched roofs, for instance you can take a closer look at the rectory from 1661 that is a fine example of a fine timbered house.  
The Inn in Hjerl Hede was built around 1750, and today the Inn appears as it did around 1865. The inn is also a traditional half-timbered house.
You should also see the old red water mill, which was mentioned for the first time in 1858. The mill is a traditional half-timbered house, and today it is running with water from the steam Mølleåen at Hjerl Hede. The water mill is still used in its full capacity and is in action during the summer's live performance.
