Morup Mølle was known as Morupmølle in 1603. In the small community there was a water mill that operated until 1901, with an inn, a cooperative dairy established in 1886, the Hvidbjerg-Ørum savings bank in 1905 and a mill for dyeing cloth. The dyer's mill was a windmill that is described as magnificent. It operated until the mid-1930s. The area was replaced in 1798 and is divided into many characteristic long narrow plots from the road west of Hvidbjerg å and down to here. South of Morup Mølle was Ørum castle and the rampart is located in the dried-up northern part of Ørum sø. At Morup Mølle was the main farm Morup (1355 Modorp), which in 1367 was deeded to ValdemarAtterdag (see Trap 1962 Bedsted parish) and the farm Skottergård, which disappeared in the 19th century. The inn in Morup Mølle is an old royally privileged inn, whose park has been a favorite excursion destination for centuries and is to this day known for its very large and old rhododendrons. The park overlooks Hvisbjerg Å, from where it was possible to sail by canoe.
