Løkken New Year's Eve Run
Join us on Løkken New Year’s Eve Run – a local and simple event outside in the fresh and crispy air. A perfect opportunity to end the year.
After a couple of days celebrating Christmas with food and sweets a walk or a run in the cold weather is perhaps not such a bad idea. End this year with a better conscious and join the locals for a New Year’s Eve Run!
You can either run or walk – an activity for the whole family. The route is 5 km. and will run through varied terrain.
The route
The organizers will explain the route and the process a few minutes before start. Runners will be divided into groups of different running experiences and those who choose to walk hence to avoid crowds on the narrow paths. The route includes a few steps, sand dunes, beach, bicycle roads, sidewalks, and parks. See the whole route here.
There are prices to be won for those who is best dressed in New Year’s Eve-outfits. It is after all the last day of the year.
The schedule
We are off to a good start with the following program:
At 10:40: Warm-up by Josefine Svendsen. We go through the route with a microphone and explain the markings, as well as the norms regarding the Løkken New Years Run.
At 11:00: The starting gun sounds and the fastest runners are sent off, followed by the second fastest and walkers last. In this way, we avoid lines on the narrow paths.
At 12:15: We hope all the participants have made it to the finish line. We toast the New Year with a glass of bubbles and a bite of the danish new years cake "Kransekage". (There is hot cocoa for the children)
At 12:30: The event ends, we say thank you for this year and hope to see you all again in the new one, where we look forward to the Løkken New Years Run 2024.
The logistics
- The event requires sign-up
- Sign-up: Sportstiming. (Alternative – contact the local tourist office for assistance)
- Price: kr. 75,00 + fee.
- Your participation in the run is your own responsibility
- There will be no official timing
- There is no refund, but your registration can be resold
- Be aware of photographers will be present and pictures may be used for social media and promotion in the future.
