Løkken During the German Occupation (1942–1945)
Between 1942 and 1945, the German occupying forces transformed Løkken into a small fortress, known as Infantry Support Point Løkken. The purpose was to secure control over strategically important transport routes leading further inland.
The fortification began in February 1942 when the German Navy installed three 2 cm anti-aircraft guns and a 60 cm searchlight in wooden towers. In June of the same year, an infantry company was stationed in the town, and in early 1943, construction of solid concrete bunkers began. The first bunker was cast in March 1943, while the last one was completed in August 1944. In total, 29 permanent bunkers were built as part of the support point.
By the turn of 1945, the support point housed 338 German soldiers.
