Dark Sky Park Bulbjerg

Welcome to one of the darkest areas in Denmark: Bulbjerg-Troldsting-Lild Strand. In November 2023, the area was certified as a dark sky park by DarkSky International in the United States.

In the deep darkness of the night in Dark Sky Park Bulbjerg, you experience the galaxy Milky Way in all its splendor with its 2-4 billion stars and a sparkling firmament with planets and the northern hemisphere's many beautiful and classic constellations.

Sea, sky, dunes, beach and bird cliffs. In the dark, all your senses are sharpened and you get an experience of nature that you will never forget - and which you can share with your loved ones.

The dark sky area stretches over 12.5 km2 from Ellidsbølvej over Troldsting and Bulbjerg to the historic fishing village Lild Strand and from there into the dune heath all the way to Flommaens Bakke.

Tips for stargazers

  • Put on warm clothes and sturdy shoes/hiking boots
  • Bring binoculars
  • If necessary, bring sleeping mats and sleeping bags
  • Bring along a hot drink
  • Take 20-30 minutes to get your eyes used to the dark
  • Use as little light as possible. Avoid white light. Red light does not disturb your night vision
