Burial mounds in Skyum Bjerge

Nature area with many burial mounds.

At the National Museum, two burial coffins, an urn, a sword, a dagger, a bracelet and a hoop needle from one of the plowed burial mounds have been preserved. All the objects are of bronze and from the older Bronze Age. In addition, a spiral finger ring of thin gold wire from one coffin.

Gold rings from the Bronze Age can be seen together with the finds from a well-equipped woman's grave, from around 1100 BC. in the Skyum Mountains.

In an attempt to preserve the heather, Gotland fur sheep have been allowed to graze in the area.

In the parking lot there are information boards about the area. From the disabled turning area there is a beautiful view. The surface on the site is suitable for wheelchair users.

There is access to the bathing beach. The trail is not suitable for prams.
