When winter descends on the Danish Northwest Coast, calm descends. Winter Wellness is warmth, water, and the power of winter itself, all in one breath.

Raw winter. Pure wellness.

The northwest coast in winter is cold, raw, and, quite frankly, a little unforgiving—but that's exactly where it does something to you. Out here, winter swimming is just you and the icy North Sea, which bites your skin and gives you a little suck in your stomach before the heat of the sauna meets the cold again and makes your body fall into place.

How to winter swim safely:

Winter swimming requires respect for both the sea and the cold, so it is important to follow basic safety advice.

  1. Never bathe alone.
  2. Start with short dips.
  3. Keep your head above water (if you are a beginner).
  4. Breathe calmly.
  5. Warm up your body afterwards.
  6. Get dressed immediately afterwards.
