Keramikcafé Møllehuset
At the northern tip of Denmark, surrounded by the raw and beautiful nature of the North Sea coast, you'll find Keramikcafé Møllehuset – a place where true craftsmanship meets the authentic spirit of Northwest Jutland.
Taste experiences for all senses
When you enter Keramikcafé Møllehuset, you are greeted by the smell of home baking and the sight of a sumptuous cake stand on the grocery counter filled with slow-baked sourdough bread and rustic cakes, served on homemade pottery. Everything is made from scratch and the sourdough - which has been in the family since 1990 - gives the bread a very special flavor.
The menu features popular options such as the seasonal Hofmeister Brunch, served on a tiered stand, and the indulgent Afternoon Tea, where homemade delicacies and sweet treats delight both the eyes and the palate.

The Painter’s Studio
Tucked away on Denmark’s North Sea coast, Møllehuset (The Mill House) is more than just a café – it’s a place filled with creativity, history, and coastal charm.
From 1962 to 1990, this house was the home and studio of Johannes Hofmeister, a well-known Danish painter who found inspiration in the rugged, untamed nature of the west coast. His legacy still lingers in the walls, but today, Møllehuset has been lovingly transformed by Martin and Kerstin into a cozy ceramics café – a place where art and hospitality come together.
As you wander to the back of the house, down a small hallway, you’ll discover Kerstin’s ceramics workshop. This is where she handcrafts all the pottery used and sold in the café – beautiful, functional pieces that reflect the simplicity and authenticity of coastal life.
The idea behind the ceramics café was simple: to create a welcoming space where guests could slow down, enjoy a cup of quality coffee, taste homemade cakes, and bring a piece of handcrafted Danish design home with them. It’s a truly local experience – calm, authentic, and filled with the warm atmosphere of a place that honors both tradition and creativity.

Tranquility, Hygge, and Northern Jutland Soul
Large paned windows let in plenty of daylight and offer views of the surrounding green meadows, while the old exposed beams and warm wooden details fill the space with a rustic and relaxed atmosphere.
Beautiful ceramics fill every corner – from the unique cups and plates you dine from, to bowls and small decorative pieces displayed like little works of art on wall-mounted plate racks.
The rustic interior, combined with the elegant ceramics and the aromas from the kitchen, creates a feeling of warmth and ease – like stepping into a friendly living room surrounded by the peacefulness of nature.

The ceramics café is open from March 1st until the end of week 42 (as well as during the Advent weekends, Thursday to Sunday).
