Viking School: Make a leather pouch and learn runes

Visit Viking School and learn about some of the tasks and work the Vikings used the cold months for.

It’s a fun indoor activity during the winter holidays for children of all ages. Here, you’ll get history in your hands and leave with a personal memento from an educational experience.

Get ready for the spring Viking raids west with Viking School at Holstebro Museum. Here, you can learn to write runes and try your hand at making a leather pouch for all the treasures you’ll be raiding.

You’ll also hear about how the Vikings lived and what it was like to be a Viking in winter in Denmark.

The workshop takes place in the Folkesalen at Holstebro Museum, Museumsvej 2B, Holstebro, during the museum’s opening hours on weekdays in the winter holidays.

Monday-Friday in the winter holidays from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

A ticket for the Viking School workshop costs 40 DKK per person, regardless of age.

If you also wish to visit the museum’s exhibitions, a regular admission ticket is required.

Remember, there is always free entry for all under 26 years old.
