Foyer Concert with Kai Stensgaard – Marimba Virtuoso
Internationally acclaimed and award-winning marimba soloist and composer Kai Stensgaard will visit the parish hall in Løkken this afternoon with a festive and engaging programme.
Stensgaard is renowned for his innovative six-mallet technique, where he plays with six mallets instead of the traditional four – a method he developed himself. He has composed numerous pieces for this technique, which are now performed and taught by marimba players across the globe.
In addition to his solo career, Kai Stensgaard is also co-inventor of the aluphone, a unique instrument that adds entirely new sound colours to the concert experience.
Over the past 20 years, he has toured extensively, performing in prestigious venues such as the Royal Festival Hall in London, and frequently visiting Mexico and South America.
